Dr. Schweiger is board certified in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. He has extensive experience in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy of adults and children. He obtained his undergraduate degree from New York University with honors. He went to medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
He did his residency in psychiatry at Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, New York and a fellowship in child psychiatry at Downstate Medical School. He is also trained and certified in psychoanalysis. He has been the director of adult and child inpatient and outpatient programs. He was on the faculty of the University of Michigan Medical School where he supervised residents in psychiatry. He was associate professor of psychiatry at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and was a supervising psychoanalyst at the Contemporary Center for Psychoanalysis at Farleigh Dickinson University.
He has over thirty years experience in treating adults, children and adolescents with all types of disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (adhd), phobias, post traumatic stress (ptsd)and eating disorders.
